The international coffee day and our work for a more sustainable trade

Coffee is one of the most important products in the world and the second most traded legal product after oil. The price we pay for the coffee affects thousands of people and their life. At Drop Coffee we choose to pay more for a higher quality. That will lead to a more sustainable production - both social and economical - specially for the producers. We know that when the people that produces the coffee, no matter how small their farm is, can invest in their production and not only survive from it, the world is a bit better and a bit more fair. 

We pay more for our green coffee than what most roasted, grinded and packed coffee costs at the supermarket. The price is based on quality and that is the single most important reason to the taste in the cup. 

Thank you for being a part of our very small work for a better and more sustainable world. It's a small part of a huge movement where the producer goes from being the most marginalized part of the coffee business to the most important one.

Det är den 29 september och #kaffetsdag2013. På Drop Coffee fortsätter vi göra allt för att bättre förstå och bättre servera denna fantastiska dryck. 

Kaffe är en av världens viktigaste råvaror och den andra mest handlade lagliga varan i världen efter olja. Vad vi betalar och väljer för kaffe påverkar tusentals människors liv. På Drop Coffee väljer vi att betala mer för högre kvalitet. Det skapar förutsättningar till både social och ekonomisk hållbarhet i hela handelskedjan, inte minst för producenterna. Vi vet att när de som producerar vårt kaffe, oavsett hur liten deras gård är, kan gå från att överleva av sin verksamhet till att investera i den, så har världen blivit lite bättre, och lite mer rättvis. 

Vi betalar mer för vårt råkaffe än vad mycket av det rostade, malda och färdigförpackade kaffet kostar i affären. Det är priset för kvalitet och det är grunden till att vårt kaffe smakar som det gör. 

Tack för att du är en del av vårt arbete som endast sker i marginalen, men som är en del av något stort och fantastiskt. Tillsammans gör vi att producenten/bonden går från att vara den mest marginaliserade delen i kaffeproduktionen till den viktigaste.
